Wedding arch= metal and fake flowers?

We are making an arch for my cousins wedding and its from Hobby Lobby, straight metal pipe with a slick white finish. We are trying to attach fake flowers to it, but hot gluing wont work b/c the glue comes right off. Wire wont work b/c it slides, and double stick tape doesnt work well either, loses its stickiness and can see it too easily. ANY suggestions on how to make them stick? Drilling is out too.

call a florist. they can help with ideas.
Reply:Did you try Super glue?

Be careful not to glue your fingers together.
Reply:I had some ideas, but like %26quot;greeneyed ____%26#039;s %26quot; answers - esp. with the tulle. Then you can do anything.
Reply:Wiring should work. What are you using, florist%26#039;s wire or chennile stems?

Chances are you%26#039;re going to have to add something else to the arch. Either tulle or greenery and then attach the flowers to that.

Rather than use single flowers have you considered using garlands with flowers %26amp; greenery?
Reply:You need some form of compound or cement type glue.

Of course I cant remember the name of it, but I used this stuff I got from a craft store to glue pieces of aluminum foil together.

The problem might be that the flowers dont have a large enough surface to glue. See of you can arrange them on small bits of foam or wrap them around a white wire.

With the wire, try melting it to the pole, or getting some of that metal compound.

I think that might help.
Reply:You are going to have to sand the finish to make a surface for glue to adhere to. I would suggest using Gorilla glue. Why not leave flowers on the stem and wrap it around the metal frame? Find a strand of flowers or greenry to wrap around it. Tie the flowers on with white or ivory tulle.

Good luck!

Reply:You%26#039;ll have to use a very, very thin wire to wrap around the flowers. You can find it where silk flowers and plant accessories are sold.

Good Luck!
Reply:You should use garlands and not individual bouquets/flowers. They are a lot easier to attach. You can use floral tape.

Also consider attaching flowers to a string of lights (with floral tape) and then wrapping the whole thing around the arch.
Reply:We used a lighted arch it came with handy little clips to clip the lights on with. We used the extras for the flowers. Maybe you can buy just the clips from Hobby Lobby? I%26#039;d ask them.
Reply:try tien them up with ribon or get like those tie things that tie trash bags and bread and try then. if u could make holes in the pipe it would be easyer.
Reply:Go back to the store or call them for suggestions.

Try sanding the metal where you need to attach the flowers. It will give you a rough surface that will hold glue or wire better. Maybe get the floral garland if you can to wrap around it from one end to the other to help hide the rough spots and you would have to attach it in less spots.

If this is a last minute thing, and you can%26#039;t run to the store for extra help, then I%26#039;m not sure what to tell you. Keep trying a combinaion of the glue and wire to see if that makes any difference.
