How come know one brings flowers?

Recently I spent a stretch in a psyche ward, good food, good people etc. The thing that I found very obvious was the lack of flowers get well cards etc.


No one ever says, %26quot;get well%26quot; soon.


I just wonder if anyone knows whats up with that.

How come know one brings flowers?
Many wards have prohibited flowers. People are still sometimes uncomfortable with openly aknowleging a psych condition. They may feel that it is more polite to ignore it.

Reply:Perhaps this is because they know they never will be,%26quot;right in the head%26quot;, so how could they very well send a card saying,%26quot;get well soon%26quot;? How cruel and taunting that would be! haha, get well soon! when you know fully well they will be a raving lunatic the rest of their lives! By the way, i would suggest a card (which i make and sell for $3.42 cents each), which say, %26quot;Sorry your crazy%26quot;! or %26quot;We miss you, get outta the loony bin A.S.A.P.%26quot;


As for the flowers, well, Moira from floor 3, Rm. 420 trys to either eat/smoke them. So EVERYONE gets punished.
Reply:I guess it would depend on the person, or persons, and what they consider appropriate.
Reply:I think that people feel kind of funny about what they should say or whether they should even acknowlege that they know you were in a psych unit. They aren%26#039;t sure if you are embarrassed about it, or would be if you knew that they knew where you were. Or they may (ignorantly,due to old stereotypes in the media) envision the experience as something so horrible they don%26#039;t want to bring it up and %26quot;be just rubbing it in), as to where you are. I know that none of this makes sense, but people who aren%26#039;t informed just don%26#039;t understand modern day psychiatry, hospitals, and that any mental illness is just a disease or illness like any other. There is, sadly, still some stigma attatched, because people are just unaware. Feel like taking on educating them? :-) Oh, hey--do please get well soon! I hope your visit was helpful to you and you%26#039;re feeling better. If I thought I could access my smiley face icons, I would stick in flowers for you here!
